Fun things to make!

Lately I have had a lot of questions on making and attaching the wigs I make. It is wonderful to know there are a few out their giving it a go! Good on you all, it is totally rewarding to get a damaged loved doll looking wonderful again! And being about to make and attach a wig is even more pleasing!

Here are some pictures of me attaching a wig! Hope they help those having ago at making and attaching their own wig.

I am more than happy to make a wig for you. The cost is around $15US + postage. Price is an estimate, the true price comes down to the cost of the wool that you may like me to use.

Please E-mail Me if you would like me to make a wig for you.

Make your own Barrettes

Here you will find full instruction to making your own barrettes.

Make those dolls look amazing.

OOAK Rag doll, Peter Rabbet Fan!

This poor doll I purchased as a do up doll.. She had a bad hair cut, hole in her nose, and holes in her arms and legs. I have washed and soaked her, making sure there are no bugs that might be eating holes. I have cut off the rest of her hair and cut her arms and legs off.

Photos below show the process she went through to get to this lovely looking rag doll.

OOAK My Child Doll Gollywog

I have used an AA doll. I died her twice. This dried her hair out so I kept the messy dry look. Worked out great not having to cut the hair. I stuffed her & dress her with my homemade clothes.

Simple Quilt.

Here I have made a nice little quilt to go with my Anne and Andy doll.

I have used my embroidery machine to do all the work, but patch work would work out just as great!

With my embroidery machine, I have managed to work out a My Child Logo to go on the quilt with them.

I padded, backed and edge to make it look true to what a quilt should be.

I have attached to the back of their display box as you can see down this page.

Paper Doll Book

This is a book I have designed for fun. You get two dolls and heaps of clothes. The back page can be cut out and used for a carry box to keep all pieces safe and sound! For extra strength, you may like to have the dolls laminated.
If you decide to do this, have the book colour photo copied first and work with the new copy.
You can cut off the tags and use Velcro dots for fasteners. OR You may like to have a smaller book. Have your book colour photocopied to A4 size,
When folded it become A5, and enjoy the smaller dolls.

Personal My Child Quilt

Here I have made my own My Child quilt. I took photos of my dolls and then printed them on iron on transfer paper ( Paper can be purchased from any stationary shops). I ironed on the transfers and did patch working around each pictures. I sewed all the squares together to form the quilt. For the backing I used an old nice bright yellow winter sheet. Cut to size and sewed all the edges under to make the quilt all tidy with no rough edges.

My Child Fridge Magnets

I purchased a packet of Fridge Magnets - two sheets to a packet. I purchased the business card packet so once the picture has been printed over the entire sheet all can be pulled apart and used like a puzzle on your fridge. They look great spread out on your fridge or all put together as one large picture. You can design you own picture to print, I chose one off an advertising sheet and one with a group of my dolls. The Magnet sheets are very easy to cut with scissors so you can make even more pieces if you wish. Would be nice to include a nice business card magnet in with any sales you might make too. Nice thoughts go a long way.

My Child Writing Paper

This is a file you can use for envelops, letters or any pictures you may like to make. This is nice printed on to cardboard and them made into a nice birthday card. You can also us this for sending a thank you note with any sales you may make.

You may need to play with the sizing.

Have fun, I have !
